Welcome to Orange County Mensa!
Orange County Mensa is a chapter of American Mensa,
which in turn is a National Mensa within Mensa International,
the international society for people who score in the top 2% on IQ
tests. The goals of the group are to provide and encourage social and
intellectual interaction.
We do this at several dozen events
each month across the county, as set out in our calendar. We have a three-day
convention, known as the Regional Gathering, over Labor Day Weekend. We publish a monthly newsletter, the Oracle, and (of
course) this website. We have an online store. Most importantly, we encourage young
intellectuals with scholarships.
We
are in the heart of Southern California, covering all of Orange County
and small areas of Los Angeles and San Diego Counties.
Greater Los Angeles Area Mensa (GLAAM), just north of us, is having its Regional Gathering over Presidents Day Weekend, February 17-20, 2012. It's four
days of feasting for your mind and body. Sign up today!
To the south, San Diego Mensa is sponsoring The Creative uRGe, a writing/painting/singing/whaterever-creative-ing contest. Deadline is February 10, 2012, for books, and April 13, 2012, for everything else.
- Winners will be announced at their Regional Gathering over Memorial Day Weekend.
- San Diego Mensa is also hosting a Leadership Development Workshop on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Sign up and lead!
It's Culture Quest time! Send an email to Captain Tim Bentley to join Orange County Mensa's team. |
